About Amefond
Aver Angela Wada Memorial Foundation (AMEFOND) was incorporated on the 25th of June 2010 with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria as a Non Governmental Organisation. We seek to bring succour to many deprived children in Benue State in particular and Nigeria at large. Our aim is to bring qualitative education to the doorsteps of children who are denied this opportunity through circumstances beyond their control.
Prior to the establishment of our Early Learning Centre at Mbaduku, we sponsored 21 children to primary school. Our Nursery and Primary School approved by the Benue State Government has a total of 150 children. The foundation’s pioneering student graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The foundation has an on-going Scholarship Scheme Programme, and many of its beneficiaries have completed their secondary and university education.
Currently, two of the pupils from the first set of the school have finished from the Federal Unity College, Vandeikya and they are awaiting admission into the university under our sponsorship.
Our school is the only one in Mbaduku with an off-grid solar plant and this was installed by the German Embassy in Abuja. This facility has enabled us to use computers right from nursery classes.
In 2021 we celebrated the foundation 10thanniversary; the event attracted people from all walks of life, who showered encomium on the founders.
